FRANCIS C. VARNER

SIKESTON -- Francis C. Varner, 70, of Sikeston, died Monday, Dec. 7, 1992, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

He was born April 26, 1922, in Peoria, Ill., son of Roy and Elsie Tonie Varner. He and Louise Fincher were married March 16, 1962, in Peoria.

Varner was employed 25 years at Wabco Construction Co. in Peoria. A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy 34 years.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Valerie Varner of Peoria; a stepson, Jim Rupe Jr. of Peoria; four stepdaughters, Kathy Eichenberger of Russellville, Ark., Carol Greenway of East Peoria, Marie Reeves of Memphis, Tenn., Marcia Roberts of New Orleans, La.; a grandson; 10 stepgrandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister.

There is no visitation or service. Nunnelee Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
