Francis Joseph Ballheimer, 84, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, Jan. 21, 2010, at Fountainbleau Lodge in Cape Girardeau.
He was born April 12, 1925, in Pinckneyville, Ill., to John and Gertrude Kurtz Ballheimer. He and Marcella Bird were married in March 1957 in Pinckneyville.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Ballheimer was a car salesman in St. Louis for many years.
Survivors include two sons, Dirk Ballheimer of Hernando, Miss., Eric Ballheimer of Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.; one daughter, Jo Ann Bohnert of Jackson; one stepdaughter, Jackie Ryan of Du Quoin, Ill.; a brother, John Ballheimer of Pinckneyville; two sisters, Cecelia Finney and Katherine Cole, both of Du Quoin; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two loving sisters, Virginia Hawkins and Rose Staples.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Bruno Catholic Church in Pinckneyville, with the Rev. Brian Barker officiating.
