FRANCES STAFFORD

DEXTER, Mo. -- Funeral for Frances Hart Stafford of Nixa, Mo., will be held at 3 p.m. today at Rainey Funeral Home in Dexter. The Revs. Wayne Dismuke and Vaughn Wright will officiate. Burial will be in Dexter Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until service time.

Stafford, 83, died Tuesday, May 22, 2001, in the Cox South Medical Center at Springfield, Mo. She was born Dec. 24, 1917, at Advance, Mo., daughter of Clyde and Ruby Lockhart Alexander. She and Gordon Hart were married Feb. 6, 1949, in Paragould, Ark. He died Nov. 10, 1989. She and Blane Stafford were married Nov. 26, 1994, in Jonesboro, Ark.

Formerly of Dexter, Stafford and her first husband owned Hart Transport. She was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Dexter.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Kay Powers of Nixa; a brother, Bill Alexander of Dexter; two stepsons, Howard Stafford of Sikeston, Mo., Tom Stafford of Jonesboro; a stepdaughter, Judy Partain of Nashville, Tenn.; and a granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by a daughter and a brother.
