DONGOLA, Ill. -- Funeral for Frances Charlene Poppen of Dongola will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau. Robert Kirby will officiate. Burial will be in Murdale Garden of Memories in Murphysboro, Ill.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Poppen, 54, died Sunday, May 19, 2002, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Feb. 5, 1948, in Fort Baker, Calif., daughter of Charles and Elizabeth Wilma Loose Aiassi. She and Alfred Poppen were married Oct. 27, 1989, in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Darrell Ellis of Murphysboro; four stepsons, Edward Poppen of Marble Hill, Mo., Shannon Poppen of Thebes, Ill., Kevin Poppen of East Cape Girardeau, Ill., Alfred Lynn Poppen of Marion, Ill.; a stepdaughter, Susan Kuehne of Steeleville, Ill.; 15 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
