Frances Hahs

Frances K. Hahs, 82, passed away at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 4, 2002, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

She was born Feb. 17, 1920, near Old Appleton, Mo., daughter of George and Sophia Schlueter Kasten. She married Truman P. Hahs of Sedgewickville, Mo., Oct. 5, 1941. He preceded her in death Jan. 11, 1959.

Mrs. Hahs was a member of Zion United Methodist Church at Old Appleton, where she served as one of the church pianists and was an active member in the women's organization.

She dedicated many years to community 4-H clubs, served as a coordinator for American Cancer Society drive, worked as a county election judge, and enjoyed membership in Cheerful Country Doers Extension Club.

Her children and grandchildren, Truman Ronald Hahs and his wife Beverly of Cape Girardeau, Brian and Melissa Hahs, Cassie, Zachary and Landon of Benton, Mo., Christy and Mike Flannery, Brendon and Aidan of Overland Park, Kan., Lance Moll of Overland Park, Bethany and Chris Ridler of Kansas City.

Carol Frances Meyer and her husband Norman of Louisville, Ky., Jeffrey Meyer of San Diego, Calif., Tammy and Chris Meadows, and Andrew Meyer of Louisville.

Nancy Kay Adelsberger and her husband Robert, and Matt, Jenni, Erin and Katie of St. Louis.

Janet Sue White and her husband Donald, and David of Dallas, Texas.

Kathy Louise Hahs of Cape Girardeau.

And a host of extended family and friends.

Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.

The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund at Old Appleton.
