THEBES, Ill. -- Fordy Bevens, 36, of Thebes died Monday, Jan. 12, 2004, at his home.
He was born May 11, 1967, in Alexandria Bay, N.Y., son of Ford and Linda May Bevens Jr. He and Penny Sue Embrey were married June 14, 1989.
Bevens was employed by the city of Cape Girardeau. He was a sword collector and enjoyed his saltwater fish aquarium.
Survivors include his wife Penny of Thebes; his parents, Ford Jr. and Linda Bevens of Thebes; a brother, Michael Bevens of Olive Branch, Ill.; two sisters, Rhonda Powell of Thebes, Crystail VanHorne of Houston, Texas; nieces and nephews including Michaela Bevens and Kristopher Powell; a brother-in-law, John Embrey of Thebes; father-in-law, John Embrey Sr. of Thebes; and mother-in-law, Sandra Carney of Thebes.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, Ford and Doris Bevens, Jack and Ruby May; five uncles and an aunt.
Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms, Ill., from 5 to 8 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery at Thebes.
