CHARLESTON, Mo. -- F.M. Forbey, 76, of Columbia, Mo., died Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2001, at Missouri Veterans Home in Mexico.

He was born June 28, 1924, at Charleston, son of Frank M. and Mary Anna Evans Forbey. He and Elizabeth "Liz" Bethune were married Dec. 13, 1947.

Forbey was a test desk technician with Southwestern Bell 28 years, having worked in Joplin, Mo., and Columbia. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Columbia.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Julie Rowden of Columbia, Debbie Gear of Kansas City; two sisters, Anna Morris of Charleston, Dorothy Hess of Collierville, Tenn.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandsons.

Friends may call at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Rick Rowden, a son-in-law, will officiate. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery, with graveside rites by Missouri Military Funeral Honors Program.
