Floyd York, 83, of Cape Girardeau, died Tuesday, Feb. 9, 1993, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
He was born Jan. 19, 1910, at Sikeston, son of Cleveland and Lilly Heatley York. He and Mary Wright were married Sept. 3, 1934, in Cape Girardeau.
York was employed by Day Transfer Co. 14 years, owned and operated trucks several years and drove for Hines Hauling 15 years. He retired in 1973 and then drove the bus for Chaffee Senior Citizens seven years.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, James York Sr. of Jonesboro, Ark., Eugene York of Bonne Terre; two daughters, Judy McDowell and Pat Dietiker of Cape Girardeau; 24 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, two daughters, four brothers and a sister.
Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel. The Rev. Earl Cox will officiate, with burial in Lorimier Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. today.
