PERKINS, Mo. -- Floyd Carroll Jones, 76, of Perkins died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2000, at his home.
He was born April 21, 1924, in Dover, Ark., son of Charles Franklin and Clemmie Agnes Boze Jones. He and Alma Lee Reynolds were married Dec. 31, 1943. She died June 7, 1980.
Jones retired as a mechanic with Leible Implement Co. in Sikeston, Mo. He was a member of Perkins Volunteer Fire Department and Morley VFW Post 5368.
He was a master sergeant with the U.S. Army in the Philippines and Japan during World War II.
Survivors include a son, Gregory Jones of Perkins; a daughter, Brenda Wrather of Portageville, Mo.; two brothers, Ernie Jones of Morley, Mo., Frank Jones of Bell City, Mo.; three sisters, Ollie Sindle of Dexter, Mo., Imogene Harris of Paducah, Ky., Neva Harris of Illinois; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter and a brother.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran, Mo., after 6 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Rev. Jim Matthews officiating. Burial will be in New Morley Cemetery at Morley, with graveside rites by Morley VFW Post.
