Floyd S. Clippard, 88, of Oak Ridge, passed away Sunday, Dec. 31, 2006, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Sept. 24, 1918, in Oak Ridge, son of Alphonso "Dick" and Irene J. Samuel Clippard. He was a 1936 graduate of Oak Ridge High School and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Floyd and Ilean Bauer were married May 4, 1946, in Ste. Genevieve, Mo. They lived, farmed, and bred Angus cattle in Oak Ridge.
Floyd was a member of Oak Ridge United Methodist Church, and a former member of Altenthal-Joerns American Legion Post 158 in Jackson and Cape County Civil Defense.
Loving survivors include his wife of sixty years, Ilean; a daughter, Linda (William) Freeman of Oak Ridge; granddaughter, Stacey (Scott) Shields of Redmond, Wash.; and a great-granddaughter, Abby Shields.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m., today, Jan. 2, at the McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Rodger Rice and Jon Sedgwick officiating.
Burial will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
