DEXTER -- Floyd "Blondie" Calvert, 62, of Dexter died at his home Friday, Oct. 13, 1995.
He was born at Blytheville, Ark., Feb. 12, 1933, son of Virgil and Grace Henley Calvert.
He was a retired carpenter and auto body worker. He was a member of the General Baptist Church. He lived at Wappapello from 1977 until 1990, when he moved to Dexter.
He married Wanda Wallace on Dec. 19, 1950, at Piggott, Ark. She survives.
Other survivors include a son, Larry Calvert of Risco; a daughter, Sandra Potter of Fagus; a brother, Lester Calvert of Poplar Bluff; two sisters, Ruby Russom of Qulin and Virgie Kemp of St. Louis; a half-brother, Buddy Kellick of Desloge; three half-sisters, Claudine Strickland of Poplar Bluff, Shelby Jean Hurley of Peveley and Patsy Baker of Arnold; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home.
Service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral chapel in Dexter, with the Rev. Vernon Self of Broseley officiating and Jerry Cooper of Bloomfield assisting. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery at Malden.
