COBDEN, Ill. -- Floyd A. Westbrooks, 76, of Cobden, died Monday, Dec. 18, 1995, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
He was born Aug. 24, 1919, in Anna, son of Francis Marion and Cora Ann Lowery Westbrooks. He and Vesta Lorene Campbell were married March 31, 1940, in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
Westbrooks was retired from Southern Illinois University Building Service Department. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and Labor Local 1330. He was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Bonnie Holman and Lydia Williams of Cobden; three sons, Jerry Westbrooks of New Paris, Ohio, Floyd Westbrooks of Brookport, Richard Westbrooks of Cobden; two sisters, Gertrude Smith and Laura Ragsdale of Anna; two brothers, Carl "Jim" Westbrooks of Jonesboro, Francis Westbrooks of Anna; nine grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a brother, sister, half brother and two half sisters.
Friends may call at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Cobden after 6 p.m. today, and Thursday until service time.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Dewayne Taylor and A.W. Landis officiating. Burial will be in Cobden Cemetery, with military rites by Carroll P. Foster VFW Post 3455 of Anna.
