BENTON, Mo. — Flossie Juanita Kirsch, 90, of Benton died Saturday, Jan. 31, 2009, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born June 20, 1918, in Blodgett, Mo., daughter of Joel and Earsy Simmons Hopper. On May 24, 1946, she married Karl John Kirsch in Benton.
She was a teacher for 42 years, working in Blodgett, Commerce, Charleston and Kelly school systems. She was a member of Unity Baptist Church in Benton.
She is survived by a daughter, Karla Sue (Bill) Russell of Benton; a daughter-in-law, Ann Kirsch of Jacksonville, Fla.; and three grandchildren, Kristin Russell of Shawnee, Kan., Kim Morgan of the state of Washington and Kevin Kirsch of Jacksonville.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Dec. 19, 1989, and a son, Danny Kirsch, as well as three brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call from 4:30 to 8 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Benton, and from 9 a.m. to time of service Tuesday at Unity Baptist Church in Benton.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Unity Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dennis Lowe officiating.
Burial will be at the Unity Baptist Cemetery in Benton.
