FLORA ALLEN

MOUNDS, Ill. -- Flora Belle Allen, 87, of Mounds died March 15, 2001, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

Allen was born on March 12, 1914, in Ullin, Ill., the daughter of the late John and Flora Shifley Adkins.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mounds.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Fred Allen; and son, Ted Brown.

Allen is survived by two daughters, Mary Windings of Villa Ridge, Ill., and Marion Rhude of Belleville, Ill.; five sons, Fred Allen of Pulaski, Ill., Brian Allen of Nokomis, Fla., Carl Brown of Marietta, Ga., Randall Allen of Mounds, and Gary Allen of Toledo, Ohio; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation was Saturday at Barkett Funeral Home in Mounds.

Funeral was Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Verlee Eaker officiating. Burial was in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens at Villa Ridge.
