MILLER CITY, Ill. -- Fleecy G. Bauer Yates, 97, of Miller City passed away Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Sept. 3, 1915, in Miller City, daughter of Carl and Novella Simpson Bauer. She and Lawrence D. Yates were married May 14, 1934, in Miller City. He preceded her in death Dec. 3, 1978.
Fleecy was a member of Lake Milligan Baptist Church in Miller City. She was a retired case worker with State of Illinois Public Aid, with 24 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Judy Quesenberry; a son, Lawrence V. Yates; two sons-in-law, Clyde Quesenberry and Thomas Arthur; two brothers, Earl and Carl Bauer; and a sister, Macey Crosier.
Survivors include a daughter, Gwendolyn Arthur of Denver, Colo.; a brother, Harry "Jack" (Margaret) Bauer of Cape Girardeau; two grandchildren, Scott (Donna) Quesenberry and Kim (Dino) Bankson of Olive Branch, Mo.; three great-grandchildren, Lindsay (Brad) Zeschke, Kourtnee McHughes, and Mike (Tara) Story; eight great- great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a close friend and caregiver, Cathy Dean.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of service Thursday at Jones Funeral Home in Tamms, Ill.
The funeral will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Verlee Eaker officiating. Interment will be in Baumgard Cemetery at Miller City.
