ADVANCE, Mo. -- Finis J. Ladd, 86, of Sturdivant, Mo., died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2000, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. He was born Nov. 14, 1914, at Greenbrier, Mo., son of Finis E. and Cora Kinder Ladd. He first married Thelma Whitehead Jan. 9, 1934, in Parma, Mo. She died March 2, 1987. ADVANCE, Mo. -- Finis J. Ladd, 86, of Sturdivant, Mo., died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2000, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Nov. 14, 1914, at Greenbrier, Mo., son of Finis E. and Cora Kinder Ladd.

He first married Thelma Whitehead Jan. 9, 1934, in Parma, Mo. She died March 2, 1987. He then married Louise Stevens Dec. 4, 1988, in Puxico, Mo.

He had been a timber worker and attended Ladd Chapel General Baptist Church near Greenbrier.

Survivors include his wife, Louise Ladd of Sturdivant; two sons, Glen Ladd of Sturdivant and James Ladd of Advance; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sons, two brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call from 4:30 to 8 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance.

Funeral will be 11 a.m., Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ronnie McAtee officiating.

Burial will be in Balch Cemetery at Gipsy, Mo.
