Fern E. Lewis, 70, of Jackson died Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2006, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. She was born July 15, 1935, at Friedheim, Mo., daughter of Walter H. and Norma Sewing Kaiser. She and Gary Ed Lewis were married Nov. 25, 1953, at St. Paul Lutheran Church...

Fern E. Lewis, 70, of Jackson died Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2006, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born July 15, 1935, at Friedheim, Mo., daughter of Walter H. and Norma Sewing Kaiser. She and Gary Ed Lewis were married Nov. 25, 1953, at St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Lewis attended St. Paul Lutheran Grade School, and was a 1953 graduate of Jackson High School. She was a service representative with Southwestern Bell 34 years, retiring in 1994. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Scott E. (Connie) Lewis of St. Louis, Mike W. (Stephanie) Lewis of St. Charles, Mo.; a brother, Donald H. (Jan) Kaiser of The Villages, Fla.; a sister, Bernadine (Kenneth) Smith of Independence, Ky.; five grandchildren, Erin, Kate and Wyatt Lewis of St. Charles, Alex and Jamie David of St. Louis; and a close friend and caregiver, Geneva Ruesler of Millersville.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home, and Saturday from 1 p.m. to service time at St. Paul Lutheran Church.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the church, with the Rev. Robert Henrichs officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
