Fern Fox

Fern E. Fox, 78, of Jackson passed away Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Dec. 16, 1935, in Bollinger County, Mo., to Lester and Lillian Welker Fox.

Fern worked privately, cleaning homes and caring for children and elderly in their homes.

She was the biological mother of Alice (Randy) Quigley of Jackson; sister of Carol (Norman) Tipon of Des Moines, Iowa; grandmother of Laura (Roy) Givens of Burna, Ky., and Carla Quigley and Ali Quigley of Jackson; and great-grandmother of Kyle Quigley of Burna and Abygale Quigley of Jackson.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

Friends may call from 1 p.m. to time of service today at the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Sam Roethemeyer officiating. A private burial will be at a later date at Crader Cemetery in Bollinger County.
