CHAFFEE -- Ferdinand Benjamin Dickhaut, 81, of Chaffee, died Monday, June 7, 1993, at Cape Girardeau Nursing Center.
He was born Jan. 2, 1912, in St. Clair County, Ill., son of William and Mary Roth Dickhaut. He and Mildred Prochnow were married Feb. 27, 1980.
Dickhaut was a retired self-employed house painter. He moved to Chaffee from Elgin, Ill., in 1986, where he was a member of Moose Club and American Legion Auxiliary. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Charles Dickhaut of Mt. Vernon, Ill.; a daughter, Darlene Perfors of Elgin; a stepdaughter, Shirley Lawrence, address unknown; seven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be at noon Friday in Dundee Township East Cemetery in East Dundee, Ill., with Scmidt-Madison Funeral Home at Elgin in charge of arrangements.
Amick-Burnett Funeral Home at Chaffee is in charge of local arrangements. There is no visitation or service here.
