Funeral service for Fay D. Wilkins of Cape Girardeau will be held at 1:30 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel. The Rev. S.S. Borum will officiate, with burial in Fairmount Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 12:30 p.m. to service time.
Wilkins, 84, died Thursday, March 21, 1996, at the Lutheran Home.
She was born Jan. 12, 1912, at Gibson, daughter of Martin Luther and Emma Summers Avery. She and Joseph Leonard Wilkins were married Sept. 23, 1938, in Dubuque, Iowa. He died Aug. 10, 1977.
Wilkins had been a proofreader at the Southeast Missourian Newspaper and a secretary at Grace United Methodist Church. She was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, John Wilkins of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two stepsons, Leonard and Robert Wilkins; a brother, John Avery of Dutchtown; a sister, Nell Avery of Cape Girardeau, and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters.
