VIENNA, Ill. -- Everett "Bud" Tapley, 62, of Vienna, died Tuesday, March 15, 1994, at his home.

He was born March 28, 1932, in Karnak, son of Floyd and Virgie King Tapley. He and Barbara Borth were married June 30, 1961, at Tamms.

Tapley was a correctional maintenance worker with Illinois Department of Corrections. He previously owned and operated a service station. He was a member of Vienna United Methodist Church, and Carroll Foster VFW Post 3455 in Anna. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Russell Tapley of Brooks, Ga.; two daughters, Janis Tapley and Brenda Vinson of Vienna; his mother, Virgie Cockran of East Cape Girardeau; three brothers, Paul Tapley of Olive Branch, Clifford Tapley of Thebes, Bob Tapley of East Cape Girardeau; a sister, Elsie McKee of Jackson, Mo., and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father and a brother.

Friends may call at Whitnel Funeral Home in Vienna after 5 p.m. Friday.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Tom Miller officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery at Thebes.
