Everett "Gordon" Shackles, 71, of Carson City, Nev., formerly of Cape Girardeau, passed away Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at his home.
He was born April 19, 1941, in Chaffee, Mo., to Everett Virgil and Delpha B. Hunsaker Shackles, the first son of five siblings.
Gordon attended Central High School. He retired from the city of Redland, Calif., enjoyed restoring antique cars and traveling with his longtime partner, Jean Black.
Survivors include a son, Ryan Shackles; two daughters, Renee Shackles and Robin Hasty, all of California; siblings, Shirley Followell of Cape Girardeau, Glenda (Tom) Young of Jackson, Terry (Charlotte) Shackles of Cape Girardeau, Richard (Linda) Hahn of California and Sandy (Louie) Guerra of California, Ricky (Capri) Hahn of Nevada; 14 grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and longtime partner, Jean Black of Nevada.
He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Lester Hahn; a sister, Ladon; and a son, Roland.
Service was held in Carson City.
