FREDERICKTOWN, Mo. -- Everett "Smokey" Settle, 94, of Fredericktown, died Monday, Jan. 27, 2003, at ClaRu DeVille Nursing Center in Fredericktown.
He was born July 19, 1908, at Twelve Mile, Mo., son of Edward J. and Mary Jane Graham Settle. He married Hazel Dorothy Kemp, who preceded him in death.
Survivors include two sons, Jimmie Settle and Kenneth Settle of Fredericktown; five daughters, Mary Kennedy of Cape Girardeau, and Nancy Rauls, Dorothy Miller, Margie Young and Billie Palmquist, all of Fredericktown; a brother, Claude Settle of Napa Valley, Calif.; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. today at Follis and Sons Funeral Home in Fredericktown, with Randy Miller officiating. Burial will be in Marcus Memorial Park in Fredericktown.
