JACKSON -- Everett G. Johnson Jr., 42, of Oriole, died Friday, July 2, 1993 at Keokuk, Iowa.

Johnson had worked on the Mississippi River for 23 years and was captain of tow boat M.V. Milton Roth. The boat was in dry dock at Keokuk, Iowa when he died.

He was born Aug. 7, 1950 in Cape Girardeau, son of Everett G. Johnson, who survives of Gordonville, and the late Nina H. Glenn Johnson.

On Dec. 14, 1973, he married Martha Farrow. She survives.

He was a graduate of Woodland High School and a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints of Cape Girardeau.

In addition to his father and wife, he is survived by four sons, Everett G. Johnson III, Stuart Johnson, Robert Johnson and Aaron Johnson, all of the home; two brothers, Lloyd Johnson, Las Vegas, Nev., Joseph Johnson of Jackson; one sister, Sandra Kay Keesee, Cape Girardeau.

One brother preceded him in death.

Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Chapel in Jackson with Grant Lund of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints officiating. Burial will follow at McLains Chapel Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 4-8 p.m.
