EVELYN YOUNG

Funeral service for Evelyn Young, 639 Perry, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery.

Friends may call at the chapel from 4-8 p.m. today.

Young, 83, died Wednesday, Sept. 20, 1995, at Vencor Hospital in St. Louis.

She was born March 20, 1912, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Mason and Sara Josephine Windeknecht Thomas. She first married Ralph DeMortiers in 1933 in Cape Girardeau. He preceded her in death. She later married Martin H. Young June 8, 1982, at Jackson. He died Oct. 29, 1993.

Young was a supervisor at Florsheim Shoe Co. from 1929-74. She was a lifetime resident of Cape Girardeau, and member of Grace United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a stepson, Wayne Young of Tampa, Fla.; four nephews, including Tom Young of Jackson, and a niece, Phyllis Lukefahr of Marble Hill.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
