ADVANCE, Mo. -- Evelyn I. Wheetley, 82, of Bloomfield, Missouri, formerly of Advance, passed away Monday, Aug. 13, 2018, at Bloomfield Living Center. She was born Jan. 16, 1936, at Alton, Illinois, the daughter of John Clarence and Iva Shrout Bailey. Evelyn and Paul "Dink" Hilton Wheetley were united in marriage Sept. 2, 1953, at Zalma, Missouri, and he preceded her in death Oct. 10, 1995...

ADVANCE, Mo. -- Evelyn I. Wheetley, 82, of Bloomfield, Missouri, formerly of Advance, passed away Monday, Aug. 13, 2018, at Bloomfield Living Center.

She was born Jan. 16, 1936, at Alton, Illinois, the daughter of John Clarence and Iva Shrout Bailey. Evelyn and Paul "Dink" Hilton Wheetley were united in marriage Sept. 2, 1953, at Zalma, Missouri, and he preceded her in death Oct. 10, 1995.

Evelyn spent her life doing factory work. She worked for many years at International Hat Factory in Marble Hill, Missouri, as a supervisor. She also had worked at Inland Shoe Factory in Advance, International Hat Factory at Oran, Missouri, and Horizon Cable in Advance, as a supervisor.

She was baptized in 2005 at Perkins Baptist Church. She loved to play bingo and enjoyed all kinds of sports. She also kept up with all of her favorite sports teams. She was an amazing wife, mother and grandmother.

Survivors include five sons, Bruce (Vicki) Wheetley of Peoria, Illinois, Charles (Katy) Wheetley of Zalma, Ronnie (Angela) Wheetley of Glenallen, Missouri, Dennis (Sandy) Wheetley of Advance and Ricky Wheetley of Bloomfield; a daughter, Lori (Nick) Simpson of Chaffee, Missouri; a brother, Paul Glen Bailey of Doniphan, Missouri; four sisters, Helen Fisher of Marble Falls, Texas, Mary Jo Fitzgerald and Betty Bailey, both of Warrenton, Missouri, and Patsy Roberts of Cape Girardeau; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Bob Bailey and Gene "Junior" Bailey; and a sister, Thelma Burns.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance.

Funeral will be at noon Thursday at the chapel, with the Rev. Randy Fuller officiating. Burial will follow at Morgan Memorial Park in Advance.
