Funeral service for Evelyn Sparks, 1117 S. Ranney, her daughter, Bridgette Denise Harris, and grandson, Dontay Harris, both of 220 S. Lorimier, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel. The Rev. Johnny Thomas will officiate, with burial in Fairmount Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. Thursday.

Sparks, 49, Bridgette, 22, and Dontay, 11 months, died Sunday, Sept. 20, 1992, at the Sparks home.

Sparks was born June 16, 1943, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Robert and Pearline Mack Harris. She and Samuel Sparks were married Nov. 12, 1977, in Cape Girardeau.

She was a custodian with the Cape Girardeau Police Department nine years, a member of New Bethel Baptist Church and its choir.

Survivors include two sons, Jerry Glasper of Sacramento, Calif., Mark Glasper of Oakland, Calif.; two daughters, Tonya and Evelyn Harris of Cape Girardeau; her father of Poplar Bluff; a brother, Terry Harris of St. Louis; four sisters, Juanita and Candance Harris of Cape Girardeau, Sandra Dailey of St. Louis, Gearline Anderson of Blytheville, Ark., and 10 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother.

Bridgette was born Aug. 5, 1970, in St. Louis, daughter of Eddie Harper and Evelyn Harris.

She was a member of New Bethel Church.

Survivors include a son and daughter, Demetrius and Diondra Harris of the home; her father of St. Louis; two brothers, Jerry and Mark Glasper, and two sisters, Tonya and Evelyn Harris.

Dontay was born Oct. 8, 1991, in Cape Girardeau, son of Bridgette Harris.

He is survived by a brother and sister, Demetrius and Diondra Harris.
