EVELYN PORTER

CHARLESTON -- Evelyn Renee Porter, 18, of Charleston, died suddenly Monday, Aug. 19, 1996, at the home of her mother in Cairo.

She was born May 26, 1978, in Charleston, daughter of George and Regina Porter.

Porter was a 1996 graduate of Charleston High School and played on the basketball team.

She was employed at the Enterprise-Courier, and was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.

Survivors include her mother and stepfather, Regina and Larry Winders of Cairo; father and stepmother, George and Heneritta Porter of Cairo; a sister, Stephanie Porter of Cairo; two brothers, George Jr. and Milton Porter of Cairo; and grandmother, Mattie Austin of Charleston.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Sparks Funeral Home, with the Rev. Lavern Frazier officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 11 a.m. to service time.
