Evelyn L. Lange, 91, of Jackson died Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Aug. 24, 1922, in Egypt Mills, to Joseph and Thelka Schwab Maevers. She and August M. Lange were married Oct. 14, 1939, in Cape Girardeau. He preceded her in death Feb. 17, 1997.
Evelyn was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Egypt Mills. She had worked at Florsheim Shoe Factory in Cape Girardeau and then about 15 years at Procter & Gamble. She loved spending time at the Jackson Senior Center, and also enjoyed going to area flea markets and watching WWE wrestling.
Survivors include two sons, Harold (Sharon) Lange and Jerry Lange of Jackson; a brother, Walter (Betty) Maevers of Cape Girardeau; a brother-in-law, Raymond Cook of Burfordville; six grandchildren, Cindy Lange, Tammy (David) Riley, Terry (Craig) Ward, Sherry Lange, Kathy (Wade) Jarvis and Darrell Cook; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a daughter, Marjean Cook; a brother, Oliver Maevers; and a sister, Ethel Maevers.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Trinity Church in Egypt Mills, with the Rev. Barry Pfanstiel officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Church Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church of Egypt Mills or to Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery Fund.
