Evelyn I. Dollinger, 89, of Jackson passed away Friday, March 29, 2013, at Chateau Girardeau in Cape Girardeau.
She was born June 6, 1923, in Duff, Neb., to Carl and Reta M. Stone Roggasch. She and Joe Dollinger were married March 23, 1943. They were married 56 years when he passed away Oct. 21, 1999.
The Dollinger family resided many years in Seattle, where Evelyn worked at the former Lockheed Ship Building Co. and many years as a telephone operator. They moved to Jackson in the mid-1980s.
Evelyn was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson. She was a hospice volunteer, served as chairman of the Beautification Committee while residing at Bella Vista Estates and really enjoyed gardening at Chateau Girardeau.
Loving survivors include four granddaughters, Carrylee (Eric) Hudson of Bend, Ore., Erica (Chris) Maynard of Anchorage, Alaska, and Michelle Dollinger and Mellinda Dollinger of Auburn, Wash.; a daughter-in-law, Marilyn; a sister, Lucille Ward of Everett, Wash.; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Darrell D. Dollinger, on Aug. 31, 2008, and a sister, Leona.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of service Thursday at the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. John Harth officiating. Interment will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
