CHAFFEE -- Funeral service for Eunice Mable Evans of Chaffee will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. The Rev. Kenneth Roberts will officiate, with burial in Friend Cemetery at Oran.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p.m. today. An American Legion Auxiliary service will be held at 7.
Evans, 88, died Tuesday, May 24, 1994, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born March 30, 1906, at Birds Point, daughter of Leroy and Alice Armeda Pool Brumly. She married Fred DeHart Sr. March 31, 1924. He died Feb. 13, 1955. She and Ray Evans were married June 12, 1961. He died May 18, 1978.
Evans was a retired cook from Mable's Cafe. She was a member of First Baptist Church, American Legion Auxiliary to Post 389, VFW Auxiliary to Post 3127, and Country CBers Club.
Survivors include two sons, Fred DeHart Jr. of Bloomsdale, Pat DeHart of Arnold; six daughters, Dorothy Noland of Greenwood, Ark., Ivaughn Zingrich of St. Louis, Mable Grissom of Chaffee, Alice Sailors of Redding, Calif., Betty Fenton of Sikeston, Donna Chapman of Pinckneyville, Ill.; a stepdaughter, Edna Rodgers of Cape Girardeau; 32 grandchildren; 100 great-grandchildren, and 55 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four daughters, three sons, a brother, five sisters and four grandchildren.
