OSWEGO, Ill. -- Eula Jane Ward, 88, of Oswego peacefully passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2017, at Alden of Waterford in Aurora, Illinois.
She was born Sept. 3, 1928, in Greenbrier, Missouri, the daughter of Jacob and Effie Jane Shrum Welker.
Prior to her retirement, Eula worked as an operator for the telephone company and was a longtime employee at First Merchants Bank in Aurora.
She was a member of Church of the Good Shepherd in Oswego. She and her late husband were active members of the Good Sam Club.
Eula is survived by her sister, Fredia Corbin, and her twin sister, Trula (Russ) Ness, both of Morris, Illinois; nephews, Richard (Joy) Corbin of Coal City, Illinois, and Mitchell (Larna) Corbin of Washington, North Carolina; and nieces, Ruth Ann Swan of Marietta, Georgia, and Susan (Dennis) Johnson of Marian, Iowa. She also is survived by many great-nieces and -nephews and members of her late husband's family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Milton Ward, on May 14, 2006; a brother-in-law, Odell Corbin; a nephew, Jimmy Ness; and great-nephew, Richard Corbin Jr.
Visitation will be on from 4:15 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Church of the Good Shepherd, 5 W. Washington St. in Oswego.
Funeral service will be at 5 p.m. Sunday at the church. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Lincoln Memorial Park.
