Eula R. Johnson, 96, formerly of Jackson, died Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2006, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. She was born June 5, 1910, at Neelys Landing, daughter of James R. and Mary E. Hartle Robison. She and George D. Clingingsmith were married Dec. 23, 1926. He died March 7, 1930. She married Claude R. Phillips Sept. 17, 1932. He died March 19, 1947. She and Avery Johnson were married Oct. 24, 1958. He died Jan. 2, 1986...

Eula R. Johnson, 96, formerly of Jackson, died Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2006, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born June 5, 1910, at Neelys Landing, daughter of James R. and Mary E. Hartle Robison. She and George D. Clingingsmith were married Dec. 23, 1926. He died March 7, 1930. She married Claude R. Johnson was a lifetime member of New Bethel Baptist Church near Pocahontas, and a member of its WMU.

Survivors include a son, J.D. Phillips of Gordonville; two daughters, Mae Biri and Maxine Craft of Jackson; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and 27 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, a twin sister, a daughter, a great-grandson and a great-great-granddaughter.

Friends may call today from 4 to 8 p.m. at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.

The funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. John Rhodes officiating. Burial will be in New Bethel Cemetery near Pocahontas.
