ADVANCE, Mo. -- Eula Croy Bruce, 98, of Advance passed away Monday, March 19, 2018, at Advance Nursing Center. She was born April 1, 1919, in Stoddard County, Missouri, the daughter of Walter Allen and Louvina Pixley Croy. Eula and John Bruce were united in marriage Aug. 2, 1941, at Benton, Missouri, and he preceded her in death April 9, 1972...

ADVANCE, Mo. -- Eula Croy Bruce, 98, of Advance passed away Monday, March 19, 2018, at Advance Nursing Center.

She was born April 1, 1919, in Stoddard County, Missouri, the daughter of Walter Allen and Louvina Pixley Croy. Eula and John Bruce were united in marriage Aug. 2, 1941, at Benton, Missouri, and he preceded her in death April 9, 1972.

Eula joined the Arbor General Baptist Church in 1941. She also attended church at Brownwood General Baptist, Bethel General Baptist and Advance First General Baptist. She served in many different positions in these churches. She enjoyed working with the youth programs the most. Eula enjoyed serving the Lord and remained faithful to the Lord until He called her home to be with Him in glory.

Eula had worked at the shoe factory, Ben Franklin and Morgan Funeral Home, all in Advance. She enjoyed babysitting for her grandchildren and neighbor's children.

Loving survivors include a son, Doyle (Cathy) Bruce of Benton; a daughter, Pat (Jerry) Hamlin of Advance; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a sister, Trula Shell; and two brothers, Leon and Clarence Croy.

Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. today at Morgan Funeral Chapel.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at the chapel, with the Revs. Ray Placher and Aaron Lingle officiating. Burial will follow at Morgan Memorial Park in Advance.
