BLODGETT -- Eugenia Nell York, 66, died Sunday, June 23, 1996, at her home in Blodgett. She was born July 22, 1929, in Cape Girardeau to Vivian Dye Potashnick and the late Eugene N. Potashnick. BLODGETT -- Eugenia Nell York, 66, died Sunday, June 23, 1996, at her home in Blodgett.

She was born July 22, 1929, in Cape Girardeau to Vivian Dye Potashnick and the late Eugene N. Potashnick.

She was a member of Wesley Methodist Church in Sikeston, where she served as Sunday school superintendent. She taught in the Salcedo School District near Sikeston.

She was treasurer of the Blodgett Women's Club and the Blodgett Cemetery Association. She was a volunteer for the American Cancer Society.

On Dec. 19, 1948, she married William H. York III in Sikeston. He survives.

Other survivors include one son, William H. York IV of Sikeston; two brothers, Fielding Potashnick and Morton Potashnick, both of Sikeston; one sister, Sarah Ponder of Charleston; and four grandchildren.

Two daughters preceded her in death.

Friends may call today from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston.

Service will be at 3 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Jerry Reynolds, pastor of Wesley Methodist Church, officiating. A private burial will follow.
