EUGENE WACHTER

JACKSON -- Eugene Wachter, 60, of Jackson, died Monday, April 26, 1993, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

He was born Oct. 30, 1932, at New Wells, son of Charles B. and Hilda Richter Wachter. He and Lavern Schmidt were married June 15, 1957.

Wachter had worked for Penzel and Landgraf Construction Companies for 35 years. He had been a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church here since 1991, and prior to that was a member of Immanuel Lutheran at New Wells. He served in the U.S. Army from 1953-55.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Gerald and Terry Wachter of Jackson; three daughters, Vicki Walters, Shari Smith and Beth Wachter of Jackson; his mother of Jackson; three brothers, Roland Wachter of St. Louis, Buddy Wachter of Belleville, Ill., Arnold Wachter of Jackson; two sisters, Florence Kassel of Herriet, Calif., Pauline Nitsch of Sedgewickville, and three grandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul Church. The Rev. Lawrence Eatherton will officiate, with burial in Zion Lutheran Cemetery at Pocahontas.
