CHARLESTON -- Eugene Scott, 79, of Charleston, died Friday, April 23, 1993, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

He was born March 28, 1914, in Clarksdale, Miss., son of Paul and Marilla Carson Scott.

Scott was a retired farm worker, and member of Mercy Seat Baptist Church.

Survivors include seven sons, Russell Scott of Minneapolis, Minn., Alphonso Scott of California, Ray Scott of Chicago, Bobby Scott of Los Angeles, Calif., Fred Scott of Apollo Beach, Calif., Larry and Charles Scott of the home; five daughters, Alice Cunningham, Ernestine Webster, Johnnie and Rosie Scott of Matteson, Ill., Betty Mathis of Louisville, Ky.; three sisters, Alfreda Rodgers of Charleston, Rosalie Williams of Grand Rapids, Mich., Eula James of Carbondale, Ill; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Mercy Seat Church, with the Rev. J.L. Posey officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call from 7-8 p.m. Friday at Sparks Funeral Home.
