Eugene Nitsch
Eugene H. Nitsch, 87, of Jackson, formerly of Millersville, died Friday, April 18, 2008, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born June 22, 1920, in Lincoln County, Kan., son of Adolph and Anna Marie Jensen Nitsch. He and Winifred Lonberger were married Feb. 8, 1941. She died April 13, 1994.
Nitsch was a member of New McKendree United Methodist Church in Jackson and Cape Girardeau Elks Lodge 639. He was employed 43 years at Natural Gas Pipeline Co. in Bollinger County, retiring in 1985. He owned and operated Home Improvement Products in Jackson and farmed in the Millersville community.
Survivors include four daughters; Bette Burris of Jackson, Jolene Daugherty of Aurora, Ill., Linda Gotham of Jefferson City, Mo., Delores Rothermich of Lebanon, Tenn; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers.
Friends may call from noon to 1 p.m. Monday at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.
Funeral will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jimmie Corbin officiating. Interment will be in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
