MALDEN -- Funeral service for Eugene Bailey of Malden will be held at noon Thursday at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter. The Rev. Sanford Ellis will officiate, with burial in Macedonia Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 11 a.m. Thursday.
Bailey, 60, died Sunday, Sept. 29, 1996, in the emergency room at Dexter Memorial Hospital.
He was born July 23, 1936, at Canalou, son of Sam and Eula Bland Bailey. He and Willie Lee Hill were married Nov. 25, 1962, at Parma.
Bailey had worked for Cotton Belt Railroad, and was a member of New Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church at Essex.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Eugene Bailey Jr. of Honolulu, Hawaii, Justin Bailey of Malden; five daughters, Debra Seuell of Poplar Bluff, Eileen Clark, Clara, Lori and Iris Bailey, all of Malden; four brothers, Ernest, Samuel, James and LeRoy Bailey, all of St. Louis; three sisters, Blanche Brock of Kansas, Bessie Bailey and Alma Turner of St. Louis; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
