Etta Rose Young Mason, 70, of 805 S. Ranney, died Thursday, July 7, 1994, at her residence.

She was born July 11, 1923, at Cape Girardeau, daughter of Albert and Hazel Shepard Rogers.

She married Percy Mason.

Mason was active with the American Cancer Society and worked as a precinct clerk in Ward 3 of Cape Girardeau.

She was a member of the Second Missionary Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau, where she served as financial secretary and was vice president of the Missionary Society. Mason also worked with all the auxiliaries of the church and served as the president of the Golden Age Club.

Survivors include her father of Cincinnati, Ohio; her husband of Kansas City, Mo.; and a host of cousins.

She was preceded in death by her mother.

Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. today at the Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, at the Second Missionary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Howard McGee Jr. officiating.

Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
