CAPE GIRARDEAU -- Funeral service for Mrs. Etta Mae Kassel, 611 South West End Boulevard, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. Carl Richardson will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-9 p.m. today.
Mrs. Kassel, 93 years old, died Monday, Dec. 31, 1990, at St. Francis Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 4, 1897, at Millersville, daughter of Alvin Lee and Nora Walker Niswonger. She married Frank Penny in 1913, who preceded her in death. She later married Charles B. Kassel in 1922, who died in December 1939.
Mrs. Kassel was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Survivors include two sons, William Kassel of Cape, Walter Kassel of St. Martin, Netherlands Antilles; a stepson, Gilbert Kassel of Perryville; three daughters, Aldana Kimmich of Cape, Shirley Peat of Playa Del Rey, Calif., Hazel Crose of Sarasota, Fla.; two stepdaughters, Leola Franke of Uniontown, Irene Brandes of Jackson; a brother, Truman Niswonger of Advance Route 1; a half brother, Norman Niswonger of Killeen, Tex.; a sister, Dorothy Tarantine of Wellsville, N.Y.; nine grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Charles Kassel.
