ADVANCE -- Etta Marie Abernathy, 81, Advance Route 2, died Monday, Feb. 14, 1994, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. She was born Feb. 22, 1912, at Coldwater, daughter of George and Martha Graham Hovis. She and Earnest Abernathy were married April 17, 1936, at Gravelton. He died March 22, 1970...

ADVANCE -- Etta Marie Abernathy, 81, Advance Route 2, died Monday, Feb. 14, 1994, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Feb. 22, 1912, at Coldwater, daughter of George and Martha Graham Hovis. She and Earnest Abernathy were married April 17, 1936, at Gravelton. He died March 22, 1970.

Abernathy was a member of Wesley Chapel Church at Hiram.

Survivors include a son, Don Abernathy of St. Peters; a daughter, Sue Ford, Advance Route 2; six grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter and sister.

Friends may call at Morgan Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel. The Revs. Bill Sargent and Gene Robbins will officiate, with burial in Wesley Chapel Cemetery.
