WAPPAPELLO, Mo. -- Etta Jane Crook, 73, of Wappapello died Sunday, May 27, 2007, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Crook was born March 6, 1934, in Butler County.
She was a member of Wappapello Eagles and the Community Church of Christ in Lowndes, Mo. She enjoyed playing bingo, going fishing and quilting. Her greatest passion was cooking and sharing food and recipes with friends and family. She was a devoted mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Howard Crook of Wappapello. Other survivors include three daughters, Pam and Roger Mayberry of Zalma, Mo., Virginia and Bob Nemeth and Janet and John Timmons of Granite City, Ill.; a stepson, Mike and Becky Crook of Waterloo, Ill.; four stepdaughters, Glenda Forbes of Poplar Bluff, Patricia and Dave Innis of Arnold, Mo., Sheila Demage and Ginger and Eric Luckett of Milstadt, Ill.; six brothers, Donald and Judy Barr of Broseley, Mo., Truman and Mary Barr and Jessie Barr of Wappapello, Richard and Reva Jean Barr of Greenville, Mo., David and Ann Barr of Sullivan, Mo., James and Sheila Barr of Florida; two sisters, Grace and Bud Bailey of Wappapello, and Gwendolene Sue Hicks of Batesville.
Also 10 grandchildren, Dena, Rusty, Darren, Heather, Nicole, Bobby, Adam, Amanda, Crystal and Dana; 10 stepgrandchildren, Mike, Chad, Sabrina, Robbie, Lynette, Shelly, Kim, Tara, Chelsa and Chase; eight great-grandchildren; seven great-stepgrandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by a son, Charles Irby; a stepson, Larry Crook; a brother, Beryl Barr; a sister, Ruby Coble; a grandson, James Honness; a stepdaughter, Amanda Innis; both parents, Loid and Willie Barr of Qulin, Mo.; and ex-husband, Wyman Irby.
Visitation will begin at noon today at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance, Mo.
The funeral will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jack Rogers officiating. Burial will be in Berrong Cemetery at Gipsy, Mo.
Lunch will be provided by the women of Community Church of Christ in Lowndes following interment.
