ANNA, Ill. -- Etoile Theresa Casper, 93, of Anna died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2008, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. ANNA, Ill. -- Etoile Theresa Casper, 93, of Anna died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2008, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Dec. 11, 1914, in Memphis, Tenn., daughter of Curtis Walton and Rebecca Ann Chandler Winston. She and George Earl Casper were married June 3, 1939, at Speedway Baptist Church in Memphis.

Casper was a graduate of Bethel College in Hopkinsville, Ky., and taught vocal music and kindergarten in Anna public schools more than 20 years. She was a member of Anna First Baptist Church, was organist more than 52 years and was involved with Sunday school, Bible study groups, Women's Missionary Union and Illinois State Baptist meetings and conferences.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Curtis Casper of Goreville, Ill., Robert Casper of Overland Park, Kan.; a daughter, Jean Denny of Anna; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Crain Funeral Home in Anna.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Tony Foeller and Roy Hill officiating. Burial will be in Anna City Cemetery.
