JACKSON--Ethel Mae Platt, 96, of Jackson, died Tuesday, Nov. 21, 1995, at Deal Nursing Home.
She was born Nov. 26, 1898, at Ava, daughter of Charles and Idella Turner Spurlock. She and H. Harold Platt were married May 16, 1920, at Ava. He died Aug. 29, 1982.
Platt was a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University. She was a first grade teacher at Jackson R-2 Schools many years, retiring in 1968.
She was a member of New McKendree United Methodist Church and its Wesleyan Circle, and taught Sunday School a number of years. She was also a member of Kappa Delta Phi.
Survivors include two sons, Harold Platt of Jackson, Larry Platt of Granbury, Texas; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a son and two brothers.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home, with the Rev. Scott Lohse officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 1 p.m. to service time.
