EAST PRAIRIE -- Ethel Mae Carter, 76, of East Prairie, died Wednesday, June 1, 1994, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
She was born Aug. 25, 1917, in Arkansas, daughter of William and Vanilla A. Free Kilgoe. She and Elzy Franklin Carter Sr. were married May 2, 1936. He died May 21, 1967.
Survivors include seven sons, J.W., James, Steven, Wesley and Charles Carter of East Prairie, Elzy Carter Jr. of St. Louis, Donald Carter of Benton, Ky.; two daughters, Lucy Achter and Geraldine Willis of East Prairie; 28 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, two great-granddaughters, four sisters and two brothers.
Friends may call at Shelby Funeral Home here after 6 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Raymond Hannah officiating. Burial will be in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
