Ethel Lewis

OLIVE BRANCH, Ill. -- Ethel Grant Lewis, 98, of Olive Branch died Friday, Aug. 11, 2006, at her home.

She was born Oct. 24, 1907, at Thebes, Ill., daughter of Wrenzo and Rosie Williams Grant. She married Albert Gerald Lewis on July 19, 1972. He preceded her in death.

She was a member of the Lake Milligan Baptist Church. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include five daughters, Rosemary (Henry) Lieb, Phyllis (Henry) Brown, both of Rockford, Ill., Erma Lieb (special friend Tug Goskie) of Olive Branch, Sharon (Harold) West of Bastrop, La., Shirlene (Harold) Thomas of Vandalia, Ill.; three sons, Delbert (Donna) Thomas, Donald (Sue) Thomas, Joe (Debbie) Thomas, all of Rockford; a sister, Winnie Hughes of Dupo, Ill.; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Charles Allen Thomas; a sister, Opal Cotner; a brother, Avery Grant; and two grandchildren.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. Monday until the funeral at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms, Ill. The funeral will be at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Verlee Eaker officiating.

Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Thebes.

Memorials may be made to TIP Hospice and will be accepted at the funeral home.
