CHARLESTON -- Ethel Henderson, 75, of Charleston, died Friday, May 8, 1992, at Bertrand Nursing Home, following an extended illness.
She was born April 19, 1917, in Toombs, Tenn., daughter of Michael and Lillie May Anderson. She and Carmal Henderson were married in 1936 in Hickman, Ky. He died in 1949.
Henderson was a member of Mercy Seat Baptist Church.
Survivors include four sons, J. Thomas Henderson and Salim Shaheed of Chicago, Jerome Henderson of Detroit, Mich., Billy Coleman of Charleston; two daughters, Viola Grant of Charleston, Shirley Court of Chicago; a brother, Lee Anderson of St. Louis; a sister, Velma Jones of Evansville, Ind.; 17 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, two brothers and three sisters.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mercy Seat Church. The Rev. J.L. Posey will officiate, with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call at Sparks Funeral Home from 7-8 p.m. Friday.
