SIKESTON -- Ethel Mae Evans, 90, of Sikeston died Sunday, Sept. 1, 1996, at Clearview Nursing Center.
She was born March 31, 1906, in Massac County, Ill., daughter of Coy and Rose Kelly Kyle Myrick. She and H.G. "Gordy" Evans were married July 25, 1935.
Evans was a member of Big Ridge General Baptist Church near Canalou.
Survivors include a son, James Evans of Mountain Grove; a daughter, Esther Taylor of Sikeston; a brother, the Rev. Raymond Myrick of Matthews; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three stepsons, six stepdaughters, a brother, and two stepbrothers.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Sikeston from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Rev. Bob Lane off iciating. Burial will be in Taylor Cemetery near Essex.
