Ethel Etta Chrismer, 78, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, Oct. 22, 1996, at St. Francis Medical Center.

She was born May 31, 1918, in Wolf Lake, Ill., daughter of the late William and Bertha Harris. She married Harry W. Chrismer in 1952 in St. Louis. He survives.

She moved to Cape Girardeau from Belleville, Ill., eight years ago and was a chief teletype operator for TWA for 33 years until her retirement.

She is survived by two brothers, Earl Harris of Lincoln, Ill., and Wayne Harris of Ware, Ill.; and four sisters, Elsie Belcher, Dorothy Hileman and Helen Dodd, all of Ware, and Nola Wenger of Normal, Ill.

She was preceded in death by a brother.

Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Ford & Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home. Graveside services will be Thursday at Lake View Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Fairview Heights, Ill.
